Hearing HealthA person with hearing loss in two ears, but only one hearing aid, risks further hearing impairment. To compensate for the non-aided ear, a person will turn up the volume in the aided ear. The brain will actually rewire itself to take advantage of the aided ear, and the non-aided ear will weaken as a result. To avoid further hearing impairment, you should wear an instrument in each ear with hearing loss. |
