Auditory Deprivation in Children

Reducing this risk is especially important for children with hearing loss. Because we speak what we hear, good hearing is crucial for developing verbal communications skills. In turn, good language skills will prevent the delay of other learning milestones that children typically achieve as a consequence of hearing and speaking. A child should be seen by an audiologist at the first suspicion of hearing loss.
